Raw muesli and zesty ginger balls

Ingredients

  • 3 cups of Medjool dates

  • 1 cup of pecans

  • 1 cup of Almonds

  • ½ cup of raisins

  • 1 tablespoon of fresh ginger

  • 1 tablespoon of flax seeds

  • 1 tablespoon of chia seeds


These zesty, raw muesli balls will really satisfy your appetite & are absolutely delicious, as well as being packed full of antioxidants & dietary fibre.

Instructions

  1. Place all the nuts in a food processor and blend until they form a flour. Add the chopped medjool dates & all the other ingredients , until they form a sticky consistency in the food processor.

  2. Use a spoon to measure equal 20 portions. Gentle roll the individual portions in the palm of your hands until you have a smooth round ball. Place your ingredients in a container and store in the fridge. These treats keep for approximately for one week, if left in a container in the fridge, but if you are anything like me you may get through them a lot quicker.

Ginger is a great healthy spice & is closely related to turmeric, cardamom & galangar. Ginger has anti-nausea, & anti-inflammatory properties & contains chromium, magnesium & zinc which supports blood circulation.

Flaxseeds are a good source of omega 3 & lignans which are a phytonutrients which have unique fibre-related polyphends & also act as phytoestrogens. They basically help remove excess oestrogens from the body.

Chia seeds are packed with omega 3 & protein & they also are a fantastic source of dietary fibre.
