Raw Healthy Homemade Hazelnut & Chocolate Spread
Ingredients
Preparation time: 5 minutes, 1 big jar
2 cups of hazelnuts
½ cup of almond milk
½ a cup of maple syrup
3 tablespoons of raw caco
1 tsp of ground vanilla bean
Most shop versions of this are loaded with incredibly unhealthy ingredients & considering its marketed as a chocolate hazelnut spread most in fact contain as little as 13% hazelnuts. However I absolutely love the flavour and I know so many children & adults that do too. I decided to create a healthy version of this so you don’t need to deprive yourself of something so delicious and you can still maintain a healthy lifestyle too, without the guilt .
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 190 degree Celsius (375 degrees Fahrenheit), and toast the hazelnuts for about 10 minutes. Once cooled remove shells for a smoother texture.
Blend nuts in a food processor into a powder. Ensure the mixture is as smooth as possible before adding all the remaining ingredients and mix until a smooth paste forms.
At this point you may wish to add some almond milk depending on the consistency you prefer.
Benefits
This version of chocolate hazelnut spread has so many benefits.
Hazelnuts are rich in unsaturated fats, the type that are good for your heart. They are also a good source of vitamin E, which is known for there skin benefits and Magnesium plays a important role in regulating the amount of calcium that goes into and out of the cells of the body. Additionally aiding any muscle tension or spasms. They are rich in the B vitamins which have fantastic mood & memory boosting benefits. B Vitamins also help our cells burn fat & glucose for energy. Additionally B Vitamins help make neurotransmitters like serotonin & even assist with the production & repair of DNA.
This is such a delicious recipe & tastes so much like the shop bought version without any of the bad chemicals.
